
Inscape: A Journal of Literature & Art
Inscape is a bi-annual creative writing journal established in 1982. Both digitally & in print, Inscape publishes art, poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction & interviews. The journal is named for the term famously coined by Gerard Manley Hopkins.
Poetry Curation
As a genre editor for Inscape, I curated the final selection of poetry that would appear in the journal’s publication. This involved careful reading of over 200 submissions each semester, as well as collaboration with authors and other editors on staff. Teaching & Team Management
On a weekly basis, I conducted meetings to train intern submission readers on how to make critical judgments about the quality & appropriateness of poems for inclusion in Inscape. Below, you’ll find a sample from my curriculum:
