“[A Survivor, To Her Savior]”

Content Warning

This work grapples with war and genocide.

An image of an erasure poem. It reads: eve remembered well her mother, the birds feeding where childhood had passed. It seemed to her that God spoke upside down: how long they had mis-understood each other. The dark woman had lived years on the road of blood. With closed eyes, raped beauty, she walked carrying a son, a husband. Her slaughtered God came and went.

“[A Survivor, To Her Savior],” Pleiades special folio: “Silences of War: Erasure Within Conflict,” Vol. 42.2 (Fall), February 2023, pages 170-171.
